Title: Ukrainian Song Title
Post by: dhhendon on November 30, 2006, 07:53:24 AM
I am seeking the English translation/interpretation of Майдан.  It is a song performed by Alexander Rosenbaum.  I believe the literal translation is "area", but as a song title, that does not seem to make sense.  Perhaps there is another English word that it translates to.
Thank you.

Maidan means square, like Trafalgar Square.

Halo,

I would like someone translate the words to these two songs. The first if Ocean Elzy's song: Ya Pochuyu Holos Tviy. I have started to look also and can't find the album this song came from.

2. Devochka Moya by Alla Pugacheva. I heard this song at Russian club I went to and it seemed every girl there knew this song word for word. I like it and would like to learn the translation of these songs, but it would be nice to see it written out as pronunciation, if you know what I mean.

3. What is the best site you know to follow modern Ukrainian and Russian popular music?
4. Does anyone know of a good Russian-English dictionary that has pronunciation! This has been very difficult for me to find. I know how to read Cyrillic decent, but still have not learned all the pronunciation rules, so until I do, I would like to learn a lot of words and be able to pronounce them correctly.

I very much appreciate any help you can give me.
