Hello! At our library, we have a lot of people from Russian-speaking countries come who want to send mail, but some who are new immigrants are not sure how to address it properly in the style of the United States. None of us speak Russian, so it can be hard to explain it precisely. Note that the word "print" means that "block" print is preferable to script or cursive.

Could someone please translate these short instructions into Russian so that we can post it for our patrons to use? Thank you very much!

Handy Guide for Addressing Envelopes!

Using the example below, follow these steps.  Be sure to print neatly so the post office can read it!

1)  PRINT your name near the middle of the envelope as the first line.

2)  Under your name, print your house number, street name, and an apartment number if you have one.

3)  Under your street address, print your town, state (Print MA for Massachusetts) and zip code.

Замечательное руководство по написанию адреса на конверте!

Используя данный пример, выполните следующие указания. Обязательно пишите разборчиво, чтобы мы могли в офисе все прочитать.

1) Напишите ваше имя печатными буквами в центре конверта, как в первой строке.

2) Под вашим именем, напишите номер вашего дома, название улицы и номер квартиры (если имеется).

3) Под вашим почтовым адресом, напишите ваш город, штат (МА для печати Массачусетс) и почтовый индекс.
